Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has appointed Former Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo as his Senior Special Assistant on Sports Development.Yobo

NSCDC discovers bomb making factories in Borno

The Borno State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday discovered two bomb-making factories in Dikwa.Bomb

This disclosure was made by the NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, during an interview with the news men in Maiduguri.
Abdullahi said that the factories were discovered during a patrol by men of the command in collaboration with the troops of the 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

5.7m Nigerians Living With HIV/AIDS


Former African Presidents, under the aegis of Champions for an AIDS-Free Generation in Africa, yesterday said over 3.4 per cent of Nigerians are currently living with the dreaded HIV/AIDS. The percentage put forward by the ex- presidents, means about 5.7 million of Nigeria’s 170 million are currently infected with the virus.

The figures were revealed by both the former President of Botswana, Festus Mogae and ex- Vice President of Uganda, Speciosa Wandira, when they paid a courtesy call on the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki.

NNPC returns N6 billion as FG suffers $45.90 million revenue loss

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has reportedly refunded the sum of #6.330 billion to the federal government, even as the federal government suffered a revenue loss of $45.90 million.NNPC

The statement also gave a detailed breakdown on how the revenue for the month of April was allocated between the different tiers of government.

Court rejects Metuh’s application
