FUNAAB shut down following violent protest

The management at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has shut down the institution following a violent protest by the students.1
The protest, which took place on Thursday reportedly left five vehicles burnt and seven vandalised.
2
The protest reportedly occurred as a result of the alleged insensitivity of the school management and the police over alleged incessant attacks by hoodlums at hostels.
During the protest, a student of the school, Taiwo Abisoye was reportedly shot and was initially thought dead until reports filtered in from the school through a FUNAAB news Twitter handle that quelled the rumours.3
The Twitter page in one post revealed, "Taiwo Abisoye is not dead! He is currently receiving treatment at FMC."
The management then issued a press statement ordering students to vacate the school and proceed on a week mid-semester break.
The institution has now been shut down to prevent a total breakdown of law and order until after things quietened down.
