Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has come out to defend his term in office after critics called on him to resign following Super Eagles failure to qualify for AFCON 2017.

Amaju highlighted his achievements with other national football teams during his tenure as enough proof his stewardship has been a success and categorically stated he won't resign as he had a four year tenure to complete.

Nigeria may experience food scarcity next year – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has warned that Nigeria may be headed for food scarcity next year unless the federal government takes a drastic measure against the prevailing insecurity in the state, asserting that the Benue people are predominantly farmers for which the state is reputed as the food basket of the nation.

Ortom spoke yesterday during the visit of the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs camp in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

INEC denies being controlled by APC

The Deputy Director, Voter Education and Publicity of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Nick Dazang, has denied claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the commission is under the control of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Debunking the claim by the Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, who said the commission did the biddings of the ruling party with regards to the re-run election in Rivers State, he said the election was stopped for many reasons.
