The 2017 edition of the annual Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards is here. Organizers unveiled the list of nominees in 21 categories that cover music, film and sports.
Leading with seven nominations is Beyonce in categories including Best Female R&B/Pop Artiste, Video of the Year and Album of the Year (Lemonade).
Contending with Beyonce in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artiste category are her sister Solange, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige and Kehlani.
In the Album of the Year category, Bruno Mars, J.Cole, Chance the Rapper and Solange will be going head to head with Beyonce.
In the Best International Act: Africa music category , Nigerian superstars, Davido, Wizkid, Tekno and Mr Eazi have been nominated alongside South Africa’s AKA, Nasty C and Babes Wodumo.
Ice Prince won a BET Award in this category in 2013 while Davido won in the year that followed.
This year’s BET Awards will hold on 25 June.
