Buhari orders probe on top officials over alleged corruption

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday ordered the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) to probe all top officials in his government who have been accused of corruption.buhari
 In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the Presidency said any of the officials found guilty will be prosecuted.
Although no names were mentioned, some of the notable government officials who have been accused include the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, the SGF, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, Minister of Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah and Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
The statement read, “The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to a number of reports in the media, in which various accusations of corruption have been levelled against some top officials in the administration.
“In that regard, President Buhari has instructed the Attorney General of the Federation to investigate the involvement of any top government official accused of any wrongdoing. If any of them are liable, they will not escape prosecution.”
