Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has appointed Petra Akinti Onyegbule as the Chief Press Secretary.
With the appointment, Onyegbule is the first woman in the history of northern Nigeria and the second in Nigerian history to occupy the post.
Onyegbule whose appointment takes effect from October 1 had served as the Special assistant to Gov Bello on new media.
Her appointment came as the state government recently reshuffled its cabinet.
Onyegbule is currently the only female Chief Secretary in the country.
Other appointments are former senior special assistant on new media, Gbenga Olorunpomi, now the senior special assistant on electronic media and Jewel Odaubu is the new senior special assistant on new media.
