The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Oyegun has finally reacted to the call by the National Leader of his party, Bola Tinubu in which he called for his resignation as been harsh but there is no rift between them.
Speaking with state house correspondents after his meeting with President Buhari at the state house yesterday, Oyegun said; "All what me and Tinubu have is a difference of opinion. Yes it was expressed a bit harshly but that doesn't remove the basic fact that we have worked together. There is no rift. We have a difference of opinion. Yes we have difference of perception but in politics that is normal. Yes I agree that the nature of the statement was a bit harsh".
“The method of getting rid of a national chairman if that is what I will call it, are spelt out in the constitution. They don’t take place on the pages of newspapers,”.
When asked whether the party would reverse its decision on the Ondo election primaries, since it was causing crisis in the party, Oyegun said; “It is only INEC that can make U-turn on Ondo”.
