The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Senator Iyiola Omisore. The former deputy Governor is been quizzed over N1.3billion funds from the office of the National Security Adviser.
Omisore was picked up on Sunday in Abuja.
He is in custody facing interrogation for his role in the election funding fraud.
Omisore allegedly received over N1.3billion from the office of the National Security Adviser to fund the election campaign of Governor Ayodele Fayose in 2014.
The EFCC had declared Omisore wanted for collecting the said sum which was part of the N4.7bn allegedly transferred to the Diamond Bank account of Sylvan McNamara for disbursement by a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and his two sons, Gbolahan and Babajide.
EFCC said Omisore received the said amount in four tranches from Sylvan McNamara between July and August 2014, a few weeks before the Osun State governorship election, which he lost.
