Lionel Messi told reporters after Argentina's Copa America Centenario final loss to Chile on penalty kicks that he is retiring from the national team. Messi said that after so many missed chances, he is ready to step away.

Argentina lost to Chile in penalty kicks on Sunday night.
Argentina had lost to Chile in penalties in the 2015 Copa America and lost to Germany in the 2014 World Cup final. They also lost to Brazil in the 2007 final.
