Euro 2016: 36 arrested, 16 hospitalized after England fans clash with French police

At least 36 people were arrested and 16 taken to hospital yesterday as violence erupted between football supporters and French riot police in the streets of Lille.000
Riot police started firing tear gas to disperse English supporters, many of them apparently drunk, late into the evening as it emerged a violent fight between up to 15 England and Wales fans had broken out on a train from Calais to Lille - a day before the teams are due to meet in their second game of Euro 2016.

Flares and bangers were lit as police officers charged at chanting fans, spraying tear gas in an attempt to disperse the crowds.
