Senate withdraws anti-social media bill

The Nigerian senate has finally withdrawn the anti-social media bill sponsored by Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah after months of deliberations and promises.Senate in Session
The decision to withdraw the bill after the report by the Senate Committee on Human Rights and Legal Matters was presented on Tuesday.
The report by the committee explicitly stated that the bill was a violation of the rights of citizens and also contradicted existing Nigerian laws, as well as being an obstruction in the ongoing anti-corruption war.
