Man suspected to be responsible for the murder of General Mamam Shuwa has accused the Nigerian military of framing him up.
The alleged murderer, Mohammed Sani Nafiu told reporters in Kano that he knows nothing about the planning and eventual assassination of the military officer.
General Mamam Shuwa was killed in his residence on November 2, 2012 by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
He said: “I was arrested from my home to the detention centre, and they are trying to frame me. I must make myself clear, I have no hand in General Shuwa’s death.”
The army however, insisted that Nafiu is responsible for the death of the Shuwa.
