The possible replacements for Police boss, Solomon Arase

Incumbent IGP, Solomon Arase, will soon begin his terminal leave and then proceed on retirement after serving for 35 years. Senior police officers have began lobbying for the office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).Solomon-Arase
Arase has been in office since April 2015 having been appointed by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to Punch Newspapers, senior officers like – DIGs Dan’Azumi Doma, Chintua Amajor-Onu, Kakwe Katso, and others, are already jostling for the top police job.
Others aiming for the job include: Tambari Mohammed, Bala Hassan; Mohammed Abubakar, and Yahaya Ardo, Musa Daura, Adisa Bolanta, Ballah Nasarawa, Lawal Tanko, Usman Gwary, Mohammed Gana, Helen Adeyemi, and Johnson Ogunsakin.
However, there are indications that the federal government may zone the office to the North-Central or the South-East geo-political zones, so as to balance the equation as the two zones are not represented amongst the service chiefs.
