NNPC boss, Ibe Kachikwu has not been sacked

Contrary to news reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Dr Ibe Kachikwu from his role as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and has replaced him with Maikanti Baru – a Group Executive Director of the corporation, the NNPC has refuted the claims and described it as 'completely false'.

The Group General Manager, Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Garba-deen Mohammed has denied the reports stating: “The story is completely false. It should be ignored by all Nigerians.”

“The minister is currently in his office and has continued to function in the roles assigned to him by the president.”
