The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) is set to take the case of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to the International Court of Justice at The Hague, The Netherlands.
Article 93 (2) procedure of the ICJ, otherwise known as World Court, would enable MASSOB bring forward its case, as a non-member of the United Nations.
Samuel Edeson, MASSOB’s National Director of Information made this known in a statement released in Awka, Anambra state, on Wednesday.
The MASSOB spokesperson said the delegation to The Hague would be led by the group’s national leader, Uchenna Madu, and six others.
Consequently, he called on the Federal Government to release Nnamdi Kanu and Ben Onwuka of the Biafra Zionist Movement to avert “catastrophic consequences”.
MASSOB also demanded the release of 23 other Biafran agitators that have been detained in Awka and Onitsha prisons since 2006.
