Bayelsa guber: INEC fixes January 9 for supplementary election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has set January 9, 2016, for the conclusion of the governorship election in Bayelsa State.

The governorship election, which took place on December 5 was declared inconclusive after violence erupted in Southern Ijaw local government area.

The spokesperson for INEC, Nick Dazang, who confirmed the new date for election in Southern Ijaw local government said the commission had already issued a public notice on the exercise.

Mr. Dazang said all political parties with candidates in the election had already been notified.
