Kidnappers of the regent of Akungba Akoko township
in Ondo state, Princess Mojisola Omosowon have contacted
her family demanding for a N20 million ransom for her release.
The regent was kidnapped by six men on June 3rd while on
her way to the inaugural lecture of the Federal University of
Technology Akure (FUTA) in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Meanwhile her domain has been thrown into a state of
restlessness since she was kidnapped. The youths in the
community accused the Vice Chancellor of the Adekunle Ajasin
University, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun of being behind her
abduction. The university management had to shut down the
school indefinitely for fear of an attack by the youths.
