Former Stationary stores and Green Eagles player, Peter
Anieke has died. He died April 20th after a prolonged battle
with acute rheumatism and arthritis. He was 68 years old.
Peter, known for his great defence skills and goal scoring,
started his football career in 1967, playing for local football
leagues before moving into the National team in '70s where
he played for the National team. He was nicknamed ‘Eusebio
of Africa’ for the countless number of goals he scored while he
played professional football.
He is survived by a wife and 6 children. May his soul rest in
peace Amen.
