Kayode Ogundamisi calls out Lai Mohammed for denying Buhari's 100 days in office promises

Political activist, Kayode Ogundamisi (who supported Buhari's presidential bid) has called out APC's national spokesperson, Lai Mohammed and presidential spokesperson, Shehu Garba for denying promises Buhari made while campaigning to be elected president.

Buhari never promised he was going to do anything in 100 days- Lai Mohammed

APC national spokesperson, Lai Mohammed this morning on Channels TV said President Buhari never promised to do anything within his 1st 100 days in office.
"Buhari never promised to do anything in 100 days, that's the honest truth. You see, when you are running a campaign, all kinds of literature will emerge from all sorts of groups but I came here and I said there are only just two documents that you can judge a party with. that is the constitution of the party and the manifesto of the party. Those are the only two documents that are registered with INEC you can go to court on or hold a party accountable for" he said
His statement comes a few days after presidential spokesperson, Shehu Garba released a statement distancing President Buhari from two documents tagged "One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days" and the other, "My Covenant With Nigerians.". The documents had a list of promises President Buhari and APC during their campaign, vowed to fulfill within his 1st 100 days in office if elected.

The statement in part reads "
"Both pamphlets bore the authorized party logo but as the Director of Media and Communications in that campaign, I did not fund or authorize any of those. I can equally bet my last Kobo that Candidate Buhari did not see or authorize those publications.
As a consequence of these publications, expectations have been raised unreasonably, that as President, Muhammadu Buhari will wave his hand and all the problems that the country faces- insecurity, corruption, unemployment, poor infrastructure would go away.
But that notwithstanding, President Buhari has given the job his best shot and the whole country is saying that we never had it so good. He has re-instituted the values of hard work and administrative efficiency. The President says times without number that this country needs to fix governance and that he won't tolerate laziness".

38 Swazi virgins going for reed dance die in tragic crash

Not less than 38 girls and young women were killed in a crash on Friday while travelling to Swaziland’s most famous traditional festival.

Trucks transporting scores of young women to the traditional Umhlanga Reed Dance collided on Friday near the town of Matsapha on Swaziland’s major highway, the Times of Swaziland reported.

The young women and girls were travelling on the back of an open truck, the rights group said.

“According to inside sources, a total of 38 young girls have been pronounced dead, with more than 20 others seriously injured,” said Lucky Lukhele, spokesperson for the Swaziland Solidarity Network, an advocacy group based in neighbouring South Africa.

Swazi police at first refused to give any information on the accident but later disputed the death toll provided by the rights group. Only 13 people were killed in the crash, said police spokesman Khulani Mamba.

Cellphone images taken of the crash show the bloodied bodies of young women lying on the back of a flatbed truck.

The girls and young women were on their way to the Swazi king’s royal residence for the annual reed dance.

About 40,000 young women participate in the eight-day reed dance ceremony in which they sing and dance, usually bare-breasted, as they bring reeds to reinforce the windbreak around the royal residence. During the reed dance, the king often selects one of the young women to become one of his wives. Swaziland is polygamous and the king has more than a dozen wives.

“We all have heard about the dark cloud that has befallen the ‘imbali,'” said King Mswati III, using the Swati language word for flower, used to refer to the groups of women dancers.

Speaking Saturday at the opening of an international trade fair in Swaziland’s economic center Manzini, the king promised that the affected families would be compensated. He added that an investigation into the accident was underway.

Chilling details of how Mbuso Mandela allegedly raped teen girl

These are blow by blow details of how Nelson Mandela's grandson, Mbuso Mandela, allegedly raped a 15year old girl as contained in a police statement signed by Lieutenant Dithoso Mmako of Hillbrow police's investigating unit.
"The victim, a minor female, was in the company of two friends, also minors, at Mamas Restaurant in Greenside,Johannesburg, where. they attended an arranged event," the statement reads. One of whom introduced himself to the victim as 'Mbuso Mandela'. After a conversation of about five minutes, the three males asked the three females to go with them to another place, but they declined.

As the males persisted to convince the girls to go with them, the victim called the host, who came and told the males that the three girls will not go with them.
After the girls moved inside the premises, the boys later joined them at their table. During a conversation, the accused exchanged cellphone numbers with the victim. The victim and the accused were passing through a dark passage when the accused grabbed the victim and pulled her toward him, telling her to kiss him.
But as the victim refused, the accused pushed her against the wall, forcefully kissing her neck and his hand into her pants. The accused allegedly turned the victim around, making her face the wall while he also pulled her pants down. The accused then allegedly tried to penetrate the victim's vagina from behind, while pressing her against the wall, but found it difficult. By then, the victim alleged she was screaming. The accused then allegedly pulled the victim further behind the wall, where he threw her down and got on top of her, where he penetrated her vagina with his penis and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent."
The girls were picked by the victim's mother who dropped them off at her father's house. According to the police, it was there that she told her two friends of what happened back at the restaurant.

Go and defend yourself, Wike tells Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reacted to Amaechi's decision not to appear before a panel of Inquiry. The Governor called on Amaechi, to go and defend himself before the judicial commission of inquiry sitting in the state. Gov. Wike said that it was wrong for the former governor to describe the commission as illegal even when the court had ruled that the panel was in order.

The governor, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, said he would not take issues with the former governor over the setting up of the judicial commission of inquiry.
It is necessary for Amaechi to defend himself on certain issues concerning how the state was managed during his tenure.

The Incumbent Governor explained that Ameachi was put to shame when the court pronounced that nothing was wrong with the setting up of a judicial commission of inquiry to probe the immediate past administration.

He said, "It is laughable that Amaechi would call a panel that has already been declared lawful by a court of law illegal. This means that as of when he questioned its proprietary in court, he thought the court would declare it illegal but was shamed." Going further, he said, "Media trial will not vindicate him as the sentiment he is trying to whip up has failed."

"I have no regrets marrying an old woman, because all young girls do is beg" says man who married a 68yr old Swedish woman

28-year-old Guvnor Ace (born Ronald Samawere) who had earlier been accused of 'dating an ancestor' got married to 68-year-old Lisa Johnson on August 20 in a civil ceremony held at the Uganda Registration Service Bureau in Kampala before friends and family members.

Speaking to Uganda’s WBS TV on why he married his wife, the Ugandan dance-hall artiste said that young girls are a financial liability and some are not genuine.
"I have no regrets, because these young girls will ask for airtime and on sending it, they will not even call you, all they do is to beep. All they do is beg!" he said
On how he met his wife, Lisa Johnson he revealed,
"I shared my Gutujja video in 2014 on my wall and this was Lisa’s comment, 'I like the way he sings though I don’t know what he’s singing about.' It was then that I sent her a Facebook request."
Debunking claims that he married his wife because of money, he said,
"We’ve been chatting for close to eleven months, so I don’t get it when people say that I’m in it for money. They call her a pensioner but as far as I’m concerned, she is still working and earning."

On what he love about his new wife, he said
"Last December, she opted to come to Uganda to celebrate Christmas with me and since then, we’ve been inseparable. Lisa likes me the way I am and she likes my music too, otherwise someone else would want you to remove your dreads and give up on music just to be with them."

President should build special prisons for corrupt Nigerians – Balarabe

During the time of the former governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, him and most of his colleagues lived a moderate lifestyle life due to the fact that corruption was  minimal.

In an interview with Vanguard newspaper he was asked how he felt about Governors and other people in politics who use their positions to amass wealth while in public office.
The former Gov said:
"I feel bad because these are resources that should be used to liberate the people and  provide welfare and security for them. It is even more worrisome that in most places those in power have not provided even the basic things for their subjects while they swim in opulence and mindless extravagance, creating a big gap between them and those who elected them into office. That is directly responsible for the negative things the nation is grappling with today characterized by unemployment, poverty, insecurity and lose of confidence in public service.
"That is why I strongly advise President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently build special prisons for those people as a matter of urgent national interest.
The danger is that if he does not go after those who stole so much from the nation’s treasury, these malevolent elements could use the ill-gotten wealth to topple Nigeria. Many of them are believed to have stolen as much as trillions of Naira and stashed away in foreign accounts. A recent report revealed that some crooked Nigerians might have stolen more than the annual budget of Nigeria.
Let them go to prison. In fact I would advise him to build special prisons for those who plundered Nigeria because it has to be done.
If you allow these thieves to continue stealing and eventually controlling political power in the country, you will lead this country to destruction, anarchy, sustained instability, military coup and social revolution.
That is why I strongly advise Buhari to go the whole hug in dealing with those who plundered Nigeria’s wealth.

Kanye West apologizes for being disrespectful to Taylor Swift and announces his run for Presidency in 2020

Kanye West was honored in a big way during Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards by receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, an accolade previously awarded to superstars like Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna and The Beatles throughout the show's more than 20-year tenure.

He accepted the prestigious award but not without a 13minute acceptance speech that blew any previous Kanye moments way out of the water.

Prior to Yeezy taking the stage, Taylor Swift  talked about the infamous 2009 VMAs Best Female Video debacle that pinned the two hit makers against each other for years to follow.

Taylor said any feud between the two was laid to rest long ago, admitting that Kanye's 2004 CollegeDropout was the first album she bought on iTunes.

"I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish but Kanye has had one of the greatest careers of all time," Swift playfully joked as the honoree prepared to deliver his speech.

As the crowd chanted his name, West looked visibly overwhelmed before recanting his numerous regrets surrounding the career-polarizing move.
"If I had to do it all over again, what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt? Would I have drank half a bottle of Hennessy and gave the rest of it to the audience...? If I had a daughter at that time would I have gone on stage and grabbed the mic from someone else's?" he asked.

West also acknowledged the backlash he has felt throughout his outspoken career: "The contradiction is, I do fight for artists, but in that fight I somehow was disrespectful to artists. I didn't know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing," adding, "Sometimes I feel like I died for the artists' opinion, for the artist to be able to have an opinion after they were successful."

And to top it all off, looks like the US might be looking "West" for the 2020 presidential election. Yes, that's right. Kanye announced he's running for president.
Kanye West announced he was running for president in 2020 during the MTV VMAs on Sunday.

The bold declaration came at the end of an epic acceptance speech for a lifetime achievement award.
